Hinemaurea ki Wharekāhika marae is at Hicks Bay on the northern tip of the East Cape. Its primary hapu are Ngāti Tuere, Te Whānau a Te Aotakī and Te Whānau a Tuwhakairiora of Ngāti Porou.
The wharenui is named Tūwhakairiora. The marae connects ancestrally to the Horouta waka, the awa Wharekahika and the maunga Pātangata.
