Tunapahore marae, also known as Hāwai, is located in Hāwai, about 30 km east of Ōpōtiki on State Highway 35. Its principal hapū is Te Whānau a Haraawaka of Te Whānau-ā-Apanui.
The wharenui is called Haraawaka and the wharekai is Turirangi. The marae connects ancestrally to Mātaatua and Tauira-mai-tawhiti waka, the maunga Te Whiorau and Whetu, and the awa Hāwai.
