Waiōrore marae is located in Waiōrore, about 4 km south of Te Kaha. Its principal hapū are Hinetekahu and Te Whānau a Toihau of Te Whānau a Apanui iwi.
The wharenui is called Toihau and the wharekai is Hinehaurangi. The marae connects ancestrally to Mātaatua and Tauira-mai-tawhiti waka, the maunga Moaha and the awa Haparapara, Maraetea and Waiōrore.
