Tairawhiti
Hinepare marae is located near the Waiapu and Maraehara rivers. Its principal hapū are Ngāi Tāne, Ngāti Hokopū, Ngāti Nua, Te Whānau a Hinepare and Te Whānau a Rerewa of Ngāti Porou iwi.
The wharenui is called Te Tairawhiti. The marae connects ancestrally to the waka Horouta, the maunga Papaka and the awa Maraehara.
