Parihimanihi marae is located north of Gisborne, close to the Waipaoa River. It belongs to the hapū Ngāi Tūketenui and Ngāti Wahia of Te Aitanga ā Māhaki.
The wharenui is called Te Poho o Mahaki, and the wharekai is Te Kura o Mahaki. The marae connects ancestrally to the waka Horouta, the awa Waipaoa and the maunga Maungahaumi.
