Ruataupare

Ruataupare marae is located 8 km east of Ruatōria on the coast. Its principal hapū is Te whanau a Ruataupare ki Tūpāroa, and Ngāti Uepohatu is acknowledged by the hapū as their customary iwi. However, they also acknowledge Ngāti Porou.

The wharenui is called Ruataupare. The marae connects ancestrally to the waka Horouta.
