Te Tihi o Moerangi marae is located on the edge of Aotea Harbour at Makomako, 21 km north of Kawhia township. The primary hapū for this marae are Ngāti Te Weehi and Ngāti Mahuta.

The whare tipuna is named Te Puke Okiokinga and the wharekai is Te Aumihi. The marae connects ancestrally to the Tainui waka, the maunga Karioi and the moana Aotea.
